Application Home

Find and restore an archived project

Open the archive, bring a project back to your main list, or open it where it is.

Beginner7 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • At least one project is archived. Open Archived is shown on Application Home.

Steps

  1. Click Open Archived at the right of the page. If you searched and the only match is archived, click Open Archived next to 1 archived match.

The archive view opens either way.

  2. Read the Archived projects list.

It says Archived projects are not deleted. They stay on your computer and can be restored at any time. A table lists TITLE, TYPE, STATUS, LAST MODIFIED and ACTIONS. Each row has Restore and Open. Back to projects returns to the main list.

  3. With more than one archived project, each has its own row and its own Restore and Open buttons.

Pick the row for the project you want.

  4. To see more choices, right-click a row or use its menu.

The row menu has Open, Rename (F2), Duplicate Project, Pin, Change cover photo…, Reveal in File Manager, Restore from Archive and Delete Project…. Restore from Archive does the same as the Restore button.

  5. Use the Search projects box to narrow a long list. If nothing matches, the page says No archived projects match followed by what you typed.

Clear the box to see every archived project again.

  6. Click Restore on the project you want back. A message says it is back in your projects.

The message reads “Empty Short” is back in your projects. Click Back to projects to see its card in the main list.

  7. Once the last archived project is restored, the page says No archived projects.

It also says: Archive a project from its menu to tidy your list without deleting anything. Click Back to projects to return.

What you get

The project is back among your projects, exactly as you left it.

Watch out for

  • You can open an archived project with Open without restoring it. Restore when you want it in the main list again.
