BreakdownShow an element in the script, add a note or remove it
Use the ... menu of a confirmed element.
Before you start
- A scene has at least one confirmed element.
Steps
Click the ... button on the right of an element. Its tooltip says Actions for the element's name.
The menu has Show in script, Show all scenes with this item, Open in Catalog, Edit notes… and, in red under a line, Remove from scene. Show in script is greyed out when the element has no tagged words. Show all scenes with this item and Open in Catalog are greyed out when the element is not linked to a catalog item.
Choose Show in script.
The tagged words get an orange outline and the page scrolls to them. If the script has changed, a message says Showing where the words are now. If the words are no longer in the scene, a message says they are gone and that the element is kept, so you can review it.
Choose Edit notes…, type a note and click Save.
The dialog is titled Notes with the element's name and says: Scene-specific notes for this element. The catalog item and the screenplay are not changed. The note shows under the element's name in the panel. Cancel closes the dialog without saving.
To take an element out of the scene, choose Remove from scene.
A message says Removed the element from the scene and that the catalog item is kept, with an Undo link. If you tagged the wrong category, remove the element and add it again with the right one.
What you get
You can find, annotate or remove any element of a scene.
Watch out for
- Remove from scene does not delete the catalog item. Manage the item itself in the Production Catalog.
