Idea Vault

Open the Idea Vault and find your way around

Know what every control on an empty vault does before you add anything.

Beginner4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A project is open.

Steps

  1. Click Idea Vault in the sidebar.

The page is titled Idea Vault with the project name beside it. An empty vault says Start collecting anything about this film. and explains that you can add a note, image, link, file or voice note without deciding what it is first. Add Note and Record Note are offered in the middle of the page.

  2. Look at Which Idea Vault.

This Project is selected, and the badge by the title shows the project name. Global switches to your vault outside any film. Everything you add goes to the vault that is selected.

  3. Look at the View switch and the buttons beside it.

Grid is selected. Card, List and Folder show the same items another way. Recently Deleted opens the items you deleted. Undo and Redo step through your changes.

  4. Look at the second list at the left, next to the sidebar.

All items, Pinned, Recently added and Recently modified each show a count. Collections and Folders each start with a button to create one: New Collection and New Folder.

What you get

You know where Add, Quick Capture, the views, Recently Deleted and the lists are.

Watch out for

  • The vault never classifies what you put in it and never sends it to the screenplay by itself.
