Idea VaultTag items so you can find them
Add words to items and then show only the items with one tag.
Before you start
- The vault has at least one item.
Steps
Select an item. The selection bar appears at the bottom.
The bar reads 1 selected and has Move to Folder, Add to Collection, Tag, Pin, Copy to Global Vault, Delete and Clear. The selected card has an orange outline. Clear removes the selection.
Click Tag in the selection bar. You can also Control-click a card and choose Tag….
The Tag items sheet says Add tags to and then the item's name. It also says: Tags help you find things; they never classify. Separate tags with commas. Cancel closes it, and Add Tags saves.
Type one or more tags separated by commas, for example rain, depot. Click Add Tags.
Each word becomes a tag. You can also add a tag in the inspector, where the Tags section has an Add tag box.
Look at Tags in the list at the left.
A Tags group appears under Folders. Each tag shows how many items have it. In the picture night has 1 item.
Click a tag in the list, for example rain.
The vault shows only the items with that tag. Click All items to see everything again. The tags show on each card next to its kind.
What you get
Your items carry tags, and one click shows just the items with a tag.
Watch out for
- Tags never classify. They only help you find things.
