Idea Vault

Mark research as checked or needing an expert

Record how far you trust a piece of research, in your own judgement.

Intermediate5 stepsMac

Before you start

  • The vault has an item to flag.

Steps

  1. Open an item and find Research flag in the inspector.

It is a menu that reads No flag until you choose one. Under it a note says: Verification flags are yours to set. OpenFrame never marks research as true just because you imported it.

  2. Click the Research flag menu and choose one.

The choices are Unchecked, Checked and Needs Expert Check, plus No flag to clear it.

  3. Look at the item after you choose Needs Expert Check.

The menu shows your choice. The card in the vault now shows a label with the flag, for example Research flag: Needs Expert Check.

  4. To flag without opening an item, Control-click its card and choose Research flag.

Research flag is near the bottom of the menu, above Delete.

  5. Choose Unchecked, Checked, Needs Expert Check or No flag from the list that opens beside it.

This sets the same flag as the menu in the inspector.

What you get

The item carries the flag you set, and it shows on its card.

Watch out for

  • Flags are yours to set. OpenFrame never marks research as true or checked for you.
