Settings

Open Settings and find each tab

Open the Settings page inside a project and know which tab holds which setting.

Beginner6 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A project is open.

Steps

  1. Click the Settings gear at the top right of the window. The Settings page opens on the Project settings tab.

The page title is Project settings and the line under it says Project identity fields. The tab row has eight tabs. You can also open the project menu at the top left and choose Project settings.

  2. Click Writing.

Writing holds spell checking and your personal dictionary. The line under the title says Spell checking for this project and your personal dictionary.

  3. Click Keyboard shortcuts.

The line under the title says: Change, remove or add keys. Every command also has a button or menu on screen. Your shortcuts apply in every project on this computer.

  4. Click Offline AI.

This tab shows whether OpenFrame AI is ready, lets you stop or remove it, and shows how it is doing. The AI is optional. OpenFrame works normally without it.

  5. Click Advanced.

Advanced is where you change the colours and icons of the Breakdown categories. Most people never need it.

  6. Click Appearance.

Appearance sets the mode and theme for OpenFrame on this computer. The Templates and Storage tabs sit beside it. Templates has its own tutorials. Storage is covered in See where your files are kept and move the project.

What you get

You know where each group of settings lives and can jump between tabs with one click.

Watch out for

  • The gear on Application Home opens a smaller dialog with only Appearance, Keyboard shortcuts, Storage and About and support. The full set of tabs is inside a project.
