OpenFrame AI

Read the Offline AI settings

Find the status of OpenFrame AI, what it is built from and where its privacy promise is written.

Intermediate4 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • A project is open.

Steps

  1. Click Project settings, then the Offline AI tab. You can also use the ... menu in the panel.

The tabs are Project settings, Writing, Keyboard shortcuts, Templates, Offline AI, Advanced, Appearance and Storage. The page is titled Offline AI with the line AI runs on this computer.

  2. Read the OFFLINE AI card.

It shows the status label, here AI Ready, and the promise: OpenFrame AI runs on this computer after a one-time download. Your project data is not sent to OpenFrame or to an AI cloud service. Below are Stop Offline AI (free memory), Remove OpenFrame AI… and the Graphics card choice. A line at the bottom says OpenFrame works normally without OpenFrame AI.

  3. Look at the other cards on the page: AI HEALTH, ASSISTANT MEMORY and TECHNICAL DETAILS.

Each has its own workflow in these tutorials. AI HEALTH holds counts and times. ASSISTANT MEMORY lists what OpenFrame AI remembers. TECHNICAL DETAILS is closed until you click it.

  4. Click TECHNICAL DETAILS.

A table lists each part with its COMPONENT, LICENCE and SIZE: the AI engine, the language model and two search models. Each row has a version and a check code, and the licence name, with a link where one exists. Below the table are a note about the model licence, the package check, the memory and processor of this computer, where the engine is installed, where the log file is kept and how much space the AI uses. A final line says everything runs on this computer, and the only network use is the model download you start.

What you get

You can see whether OpenFrame AI is ready and what it is made of.

Watch out for

  • The status label changes with the situation. It can read Not downloaded, Checking its files…, Getting Offline AI ready on this computer…, Needs a new download, Needs a reinstall, Not available on this computer, or Stopped after a problem. It restarts when you ask something.
