OpenFrame AIChoose whether OpenFrame AI may use the graphics card
Let OpenFrame AI use a graphics card when it is safe, or keep it on the processor.
Before you start
- OpenFrame AI is downloaded, so the Graphics card choice is shown on the Offline AI tab.
Steps
On the Offline AI tab, find Graphics card under the two buttons.
It has two choices, Automatic and Off. Automatic is selected. The line under it says Decided before the first answer. Automatic uses a graphics card only after it passes a short check; the processor is always the fallback.
Read the line under Graphics card.
It says where OpenFrame AI runs now. In the picture it says Runs on the processor. The graphics card does not have enough memory for OpenFrame AI. This is not a fault. The answers do not change, only how fast they come.
Click Off to keep OpenFrame AI on the processor, or Automatic to let it use a checked graphics card.
A message confirms: OpenFrame AI will run on the processor, or OpenFrame AI will use a checked graphics card when there is one. The choice is decided before the first answer, so it applies the next time OpenFrame AI starts. Stop Offline AI (free memory) makes that happen sooner.
What you get
OpenFrame AI runs where you chose, and the line under the choice tells you where.
Watch out for
- If OpenFrame AI fails or the computer slows down, choose Off. The processor always works.
