OpenFrame AI

Choose what OpenFrame AI looks at

Set the Scope so an answer uses only the part of the project you mean.

Intermediate8 stepsWindows

Before you start

  • OpenFrame AI panel is open.

Steps

  1. Click the Scope list at the top of the panel.

On the Home page the list offers Current Screenplay, Beat Board, Production Workspace and Whole Project. The line under it says what the next question will use, for example Using: Whole Project. Whole Project looks at everything in the project.

  2. Choose Current Screenplay.

The line changes to Using: Current Screenplay. Questions now use the screenplay draft you have open in the Screenplay page. A project with several screenplays uses the one that is open there.

  3. Choose Beat Board.

The line reads Using: Beat Board. Use it for questions about acts, sequences, beats and scene cards.

  4. Open the Screenplay page with the panel open.

On this page the list also offers narrower choices when something specific is open. Current Scene appears when a scene is selected and Specific Draft appears when a draft is open. If you have not chosen a Scope yourself, the panel starts with the one that fits the page. In the picture the Scope you chose earlier, Whole Project, is kept.

  5. Open the Story page.

Beat Board is the Scope that fits Story. The Scope you picked stays in place while you move around, unless it does not apply to the new page.

  6. Open the Breakdown page.

Production Workspace is the Scope that fits Breakdown, Production and Call Sheets. It looks at the production side of the project: breakdown, catalog, locations, cast and crew, schedule and so on.

  7. Open the Production page.

The panel sits beside the Production overview. Shooting Day and Call Sheet appear in the Scope list when a shooting day or a call sheet is open.

  8. Open the Idea Vault, select one or more items and look at the Scope list.

Idea Vault Selection appears when items are selected, and Current Selection appears for selected cards on other pages. The Idea Vault in the picture is the project's own vault, This Project.

What you get

Each question uses the part of the project you chose, shown in the Using line.

Watch out for

  • If an answer seems to miss things, check the Using line. A narrow Scope such as Current Screenplay does not look at the Beat Board or the Idea Vault.
  • A Scope that needs a target is offered only when there is one. If Current Scene is missing, open a scene first.
