FilesOpen a file, show it in File Explorer or save a copy
Use a file outside OpenFrame, or hand a copy to someone.
Before you start
- A file in the project that is Stored in project or Linked (external).
Steps
Click Open on the file's row.
The file opens in the program Windows uses for that type, such as a text editor for a .txt file. In the details drawer, Open is the orange button at the bottom right.
Click Reveal in File Manager in the details drawer.
Windows File Explorer opens with the file selected. A copy in the project sits inside the project folder. Do not rename or delete it there. Use OpenFrame for that.
Click Export Copy… and choose where to save the copy.
This saves a copy of the file in a place you pick, for example to send to someone. A message says Saved a copy of the file name and offers a button to show it. The file in the project stays as it is.
What you get
You opened the file, found it on disk, or saved a copy elsewhere.
Watch out for
- Open and Export Copy… are greyed out for a file that is Unavailable. Relink it first.
