Intermediate5 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A screenplay is open.

Steps

  1. Choose Screenplay Tools, then Page Setup….

The sheet says: Saved with this screenplay. The page view, print preview and PDF all use it. Two tabs, Page and Title Page, share the sheet. Preset has Standard screenplay (US Letter) and Standard screenplay (A4); it applies the preset's settings here and Save keeps them.

  2. Open the Paper menu and choose US Letter or A4.

Font is Courier and Size is 12 pt (standard). These are the screenplay standard.

  3. Open the Line spacing menu.

The choices are Single (standard), 1.5 lines and Double. First page number sets the number of the first page.

  4. Type a Header, for example {title} {draft}, or click a placeholder button to insert it. Do the same for the Footer.

The buttons insert {title}, {draft}, {revision}, {date} and {page}. Placeholders fill in on every page. The boxes below are Print the page number on the first page, Show the header and footer on the first page, Include the title page when exporting and printing, and Print scene numbers.

  5. Click Save.

A notice reads Changed the page setup, and the counter shows 4 pages on A4.

What you get

The page setup is saved with this screenplay and used by Page View, Print Preview and the PDF.

Watch out for

  • Page setup belongs to one screenplay. Other screenplays in the project keep their own.
