Screenplay

Find a word in the script

Search the script and step through every match.

Beginner4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A screenplay with text is open.

Steps

  1. Click Find in the bar, or press Command-F.

A find bar opens above the page with a Find box, go back and go forward arrows and Done.

  2. Type the word, for example kite.

Every match is marked in the script. Use go forward and go back to move from match to match. Close in the box clears the word.

  3. Try a word that is not in the script, for example zeppelin.

Nothing is marked and the arrows do nothing. Check the spelling, or search for a shorter part of the word.

  4. Click Done to close the find bar.

The page is back to normal.

What you get

You found the word and moved through its matches.

Watch out for

  • Find only looks and never changes the script. To change words, use Replace.
