Screenplay

Comment on a whole scene or on the whole draft

Leave a comment that is not tied to a few words.

Intermediate4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A screenplay is open.

Steps

  1. Control-click a scene in the scene list and choose Add Comment.

The comment attaches to that scene.

  2. Type the comment and click Comment.

The composer is labelled with the scene, for example Scene 2 · scene comment.

  3. To comment on the whole draft, open the Comments tab and click Comment on Draft.

The composer is labelled Draft comment. Use it for notes about the draft as a whole, such as a date or a title page.

  4. Look at the list with both comments.

The bar reads Comments (2) and the tab reads Open (2). Each card says whether it is a Draft comment or a text comment, and Show takes you to its place in the script.

What you get

You have a scene comment or a draft comment next to your text comments.

Watch out for

  • A draft comment belongs to one draft. Open the draft you mean before you write it.
