Production Plan

Open a shot and add camera details

Add shot size, movement, angle, lens, characters and a reference image, only when you need them.

Intermediate4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A scene has shots.

Steps

  1. Control-click a shot.

The menu offers Open, Duplicate, Move to Scene…, Move Up, Move Down, Attach Storyboard…, Create Storyboard Panel and Delete.

  2. Choose Open, or click the shot.

The inspector is headed SHOT with its letter and description. It has Description, Technical details (optional, hidden until you need them), Reference image with Add reference image…, Storyboard with Attach… and Create panel, and Delete and Duplicate buttons. A note says a reference image is copied into the project.

  3. Click Technical details to open it. Fill in what you need.

It has Shot size, Movement, Angle, Lens, Camera notes, Characters and Sound note. Shot size, Movement and Angle each have Suggestions. The picture shows Wide, Static, Eye level and 24mm. The shot's labels, such as Static and Eye level, then show in the list.

  4. Click Characters beside the Characters box.

The menu lists the characters of this scene, here KIRAN and DEVI. A line also says In this scene. You can instead type a character and press Return.

What you get

The shot carries the camera details you gave it, and nothing more.

Watch out for

  • Technical details are optional. Leave them closed when you only need the description.
