HomeOpen a project from disk or restore a backup
Open a project that is not on the list, or bring back a project from a backup or package file.
Before you start
- You have a project folder, a backup or a project package on this Mac or on a connected drive.
Steps
To open a project that is not shown as a card, click Open Project and pick it in the macOS window that opens. On the empty page, click Open Existing Project.
A card opens with one click, so Open Project is only for projects that are not listed. You can also choose File > Open Project… (Command-O).
To open a package or restore a backup, click Restore Backup or Package… and pick the file.
The button is next to Open Project. A macOS window opens for you to pick the backup or package file.
If a project is in your projects folder but missing from your list, look for Found on this Mac and click Open next to it.
The section says: These projects are in your projects folder but not in your list. Open one to add it back. Each row shows the project name, its folder and when it changed.
What you get
The project opens, or it is restored from the file you picked.
Watch out for
- If a file cannot be used, pick a different file. Nothing in your list is changed by a file that does not open.
