Rename a file and write a note about it

Give a file a clearer name inside OpenFrame and record why it matters.

Beginner2 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A file is selected and its details are open.

Steps

  1. In the details panel, edit the Name box.

The note under the box says: The name shown in OpenFrame. The file itself is not renamed. The original file name is still shown lower down.

  2. Click in Notes and type your note.

The empty box asks: What is this file, and why does it matter? In the picture the note reads Signed copy still to come from the depot office.

What you get

The file shows your name for it and carries your note.

Watch out for

  • Renaming here changes only the name OpenFrame shows. The file on disk keeps its own name.
