Budget

Start a budget in your currency

Turn the budget on for the project and pick the currency it uses.

Beginner3 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A project is open.

Steps

  1. Click Production in the sidebar, then choose Budget in the picker at the top of the page.

The page says Use a simple estimate for planning. Formal accounting is outside OpenFrame. A card called Start a budget offers a Currency menu, set to INR, and the Start Budget button. A line under it says Optional. You can ignore the budget entirely.

  2. Click the Currency menu and choose your currency.

The menu lists INR, USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, NZD, JPY, CHF, SEK, NOK, DKK, ZAR, BRL, MXN, SGD and AED. All amounts on the page use this currency. You can change it later in Edit Plan.

  3. Click Start Budget.

The budget opens empty. PLANNED reads ₹0 (in the currency you chose), ACTUAL reads None yet with 0 of 0 lines have an Actual amount, and DIFFERENCE reads Not spent yet. The table says: No lines yet. Add a line for each rough cost you expect. Export, Save Snapshot and Add Line are now at the top right.

What you get

An empty budget is ready for your first line.

Watch out for

  • The budget is optional. If you do not need it, leave the page alone.
