Budget

Set the overall plan, contingency and currency

Record your overall estimate, a contingency and notes, or change the currency.

Intermediate4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A budget has been started.

Steps

  1. Click Edit Plan under PLANNED.

The Budget plan sheet has Currency, Planned total, Contingency and Notes, with Cancel and Save. Planned total says Your overall estimate. Optional. It is a figure of your own and is separate from the total of the lines.

  2. Enter the Planned total, choose Percent or Amount under Contingency, and type the value.

Percent takes a percentage, shown with a % sign, and Amount takes a sum of money. Add Notes if you like.

  3. To change the currency, click the Currency menu and choose another.

It lists the same seventeen currencies as when you started the budget, from INR to AED.

  4. Click Save.

A message says Changed the budget plan. The PLANNED card keeps the total of your lines and now shows your plan underneath, for example Overall plan ₹1,00,000 · 10% contingency ₹10,000.

What you get

The Planned card shows your overall plan and contingency, and the budget uses the currency you chose.

Watch out for

  • After changing the currency, review your amounts. Check each line.
  • The overall plan and contingency are for your reference. The PLANNED total at the top is still the sum of the lines.
