Ask OpenFrame to suggest elements for a scene

Let OpenFrame read the scene text and list the elements it thinks the scene needs.

Beginner3 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A scene is open in Breakdown.

Steps

  1. With a scene open, click Suggest Elements in the panel.

The panel says Nothing broken down yet for a new scene. Suggest Elements searches the scene text for people, places and objects. Add Element, next to it, is for adding something yourself.

  2. Read the suggestions.

A message says 10 suggestions to review. Nothing is added to production until you accept. The scene row shows a 10 suggested badge, and the panel shows a yellow banner Suggested elements: 10 with Review…. Each suggestion is grouped by category, marked Suggested and (suggested) after its name, and shows matched: followed by the words in the script that triggered it. The words are also underlined in the script. Every suggestion has Accept, Edit and Reject.

  3. Click Review… to see all suggestions in one sheet.

The sheet is headed Suggested elements: Scene 1 and says: Grouped by category, with the text that triggered each suggestion. A yellow note warns: Suggestions are not production data yet. Accept, edit or reject each one. Use the next workflow to deal with them.

What you get

You have a list of suggestions to accept, edit or reject. The scene breakdown stays unchanged until you accept some.

Watch out for

  • Suggestions are guesses from the script text. Read each one before you accept it.
