Breakdown

Filter the scene list

Narrow the scenes to those still to do, those with suggestions, or those using one category.

Beginner4 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A production source is set.

Steps

  1. Click Filter above the scene list.

The menu has two groups. Under Show: All scenes, Only unreviewed, Only suggested, Only missing a breakdown, Script changed, Complete and Not complete, each with the number of scenes in brackets. Under Category: Any category, Cast, Extras / Background, Location / Set, Props, Wardrobe, Vehicles, Hair / Makeup, Special Effects, VFX, Sound and Animals. A tick marks what is active.

  2. Choose Only missing a breakdown.

The button now reads Filter scenes: Only missing a breakdown and the count above the list shows how many scenes match, here 10 of 10. This is the quickest way to find scenes you have not started.

  3. Choose a category, for example Cast.

Only scenes that have an element in that category stay in the list. In the picture 1 of 10 scenes has Cast. You can combine a Show choice with a category.

  4. If no scene matches, the list says No scenes match this filter.

This picture shows the Complete filter before any scene is finished, so the count reads 0 of 10. Open Filter and choose All scenes and Any category to see every scene again.

What you get

The scene list shows only the scenes you need.

Watch out for

  • A filter hides scenes from the list only. Export and the catalog still use every scene.
