Breakdown

Export the breakdown as PDF, CSV or a spreadsheet

Save the breakdown by scene, with the catalog and the scenes that use each item, as a file.

Intermediate5 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A production source is set and scenes have elements.

Steps

  1. Click Export in the blue bar.

The sheet Export Breakdown says: The breakdown by scene and the Catalog with the scenes that use each item. Below, Source: the active Production Source names the draft. Format is PDF, CSV or Spreadsheet (XLSX), and PDF is chosen first.

  2. Click CSV for a plain table.

The Suggested file name ends in .csv, for example Night Bus - Breakdown Report - 2026-10-28.csv.

  3. Click Spreadsheet (XLSX) for a spreadsheet file.

The suggested name now ends in .xlsx.

  4. Tick the options you want: Only the scene shown (Scene 1), Include suggested elements (marked as suggested) and Include element notes.

Include suggested elements is ticked when the sheet opens, while the other two are not. Only the scene shown limits the file to the open scene. A line reads: Private notes excluded. Export creates a snapshot and does not change the breakdown.

  5. Click Export… and choose where to save the file in the window that opens.

Cancel closes the sheet without exporting.

What you get

A breakdown file is saved where you chose.

Watch out for

  • Turn off Include suggested elements if you want only accepted elements in the file.
  • The file is a snapshot. Later changes to the breakdown are not in it, so export again to refresh it.
