Settings

Change, add or remove keys for a command

Give a command the keys you want.

Intermediate3 stepsMac

Before you start

  • Keyboard Shortcuts is open.

Steps

  1. Filter to the command you want, for example Open Project Settings, and click Add on its row.

Add gives a command a set of keys. Use it again to give a command a second set, as Search projects has with Command+F and Command+K.

  2. Press the new keys.

Next to the current keys the row shows: Press the new keys. Escape cancels. Add is greyed out while the row waits. Press Escape to leave the shortcut as it was.

  3. To take a key away from a command, click Remove beside the key.

Remove deletes that one key from that command. A command with no keys left shows None under Current and still works from its button or menu.

What you get

The command answers to the keys you set, in every project.

Watch out for

  • Look at the Conflict column on the row. None means no other command uses the same keys.
