Beginner6 stepsMac

Before you start

  • A screenplay with text is open.

Steps

  1. Choose Print from the File menu (Command-P), or click Preview… in the Export Screenplay sheet.

Print Preview opens with the pages on the left and settings on the right. The heading shows the screenplay and draft.

  2. Look at the first page.

The page indicator reads Title page · 1 of 5. Preview settings has Title page, Revision info and Include notes. Under the pages are Previous page, Next page, Zoom out, Zoom Fit and Zoom in. A note reads: The PDF numbers pages from page 2. Changing these settings affects only the outgoing document, never the screenplay itself.

  3. Click Next page.

The indicator reads Page 1 · 2 of 5. The running header, LOST PROPERTY 1., and the scene numbers are on the page.

  4. Click Zoom in to read closely.

The page enlarges. Zoom Fit fits the page to the window again.

  5. Clear Title page.

The title page is gone and the indicator reads Page 2 · 2 of 4. The pages after it are the same.

  6. Click Print… to print, or Export PDF to save a PDF. Back to Export Options returns to the export sheet and Close shuts the preview.

Print… opens the standard macOS print panel. Export PDF asks where to save the file.

What you get

You printed the pages or saved the PDF.

Watch out for

  • The preview matches the PDF. Fix the page, header or title page in Page Setup and Title Page, not in the preview.
