Mac tutorials › Project Settings
Project SettingsTurn spelling on and choose the languages
Set whether the project is spell checked and in which languages.
Before you start
- Project Settings is open.
Steps
Click Writing. Under SPELLING, tick or untick Check spelling as I write.
When ticked, words are checked on this Mac by the system spelling service. Character names and words you add to the dictionary are never marked as mistakes.
Click the Main language menu and choose a language.
The list includes Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, several kinds of English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Telugu, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
If the script mixes two languages, choose a Second language the same way.
It starts as None. A second language stops words in that language being flagged as mistakes.
What you get
Spelling is checked in the languages you chose.
Watch out for
- Spelling uses the dictionaries installed on your Mac. A language the Mac does not have cannot be checked.
