Beginner6 stepsMac

Before you start

  • Settings is open on the Offline AI tab.

Steps

  1. Look at the progress while Offline AI downloads for the first time.

The download happens once. The files are checked before the first answer. You can cancel it, or import the model files from a folder.

  2. When it is ready the status reads AI Ready.

The page shows Stop Offline AI, Remove OpenFrame AI…, the Graphics option, AI health and Assistant memory.

  3. Open Technical details.

It lists the engine and the models by name, version and size, and states that prompts, project text and answers are never sent anywhere.

  4. Under Graphics, click Off to use only the main processor.

Automatic uses the graphics processor of this Mac only after it passes a short check, and the main processor is always the fallback.

  5. Scroll to AI health.

It shows numbers about how OpenFrame AI ran, and Export AI report… saves them to a file you choose. No questions or answers are kept.

  6. Click Remove OpenFrame AI….

A confirmation asks Remove OpenFrame AI? Your projects are not changed. Click Cancel to keep it, or Remove to delete the downloaded files.

What you get

You know what runs on your Mac, and you can stop it or remove it at any time.

Watch out for

  • Remove deletes the downloaded engine and models. You can download them again later.
