OpenFrame AIAsk OpenFrame AI about your project
Ask a question in plain words and read an answer that says what it is based on.
Before you start
- A project is open.
- Offline AI is installed and shows AI Ready.
Steps
Click Assistant in the toolbar. Look at the panel.
The panel opens at the right with the status AI Ready, a Scope control and a short note with examples of what you can ask. Answers come from your project, and changes are only ever prepared for you to review.
Click the box at the bottom of the panel and type your question, for example How many scenes are in the script?
The Send button turns on once there is text. Press Return or click Send.
Wait while the answer is written.
The panel shows Writing the answer with a Cancel button. The work happens on this Mac. Click Cancel to stop it.
Read the answer and the line below it that says Inferred, written by Offline AI.
Based on lists the parts of your project the answer used, such as a character. Click See sources to open the list.
Ask a question about the screenplay that is open, such as how many scenes it has.
With the scope set to Current Screenplay the answer comes from that screenplay only, and names it in Based on.
Click See sources under an answer.
The sources open as a list, for example the scene locations and the locations in the project, so you can check the answer before you rely on it.
What you get
You asked a question, watched the answer being written on your Mac, and saw what it was based on.
Watch out for
- Answers are written by an offline AI. Check an answer against its sources before you rely on it.
